It’s been a very odd year for me. How’s it been for you? And all of us? The world seemed to stop in March 2020. Then slowly the wheels of life began to turn.
Praise be the children who have suffered in silence, without complaint, agreeing to each, every and all rules and impositions made of them.
In Law, well it’s been interesting. Courts were happy to allow all the security guards to be infected with Covid. The wearing of masks are necessary in the corridors but not in the court rooms. Clearly Covid is struck down before the majesty and might of British Justice. If only.

I think some of the changes will now be irreversible. There will be a push for digital courts, cases being heard from the Police Station. Remote hearings, phone directions hearings and digital hearings. On reflection it’s been a pleasure to be part of such a people centric world. I do acknowledge that this does cause a lot of delay, there’s plenty of waiting around and apparent inefficiency. It did feel very human though as if we were impossible to manage.

What has struck me is that people have sought recourse to law. Albeit reluctantly. If you can’t sort things out, your last refuge is seeking legal advice and if necessary acquiring and hiring the skills of a trained professional to help solve the problems. That’s the idea, at any rate.

I’ve been very grateful to everyone whom instructed me over the last 16 months ( I’m typing this in July 2021) with a whole range of issues; Family, Debt, Employment, Wills and Probate and most interestingly Defamation.

Defamation of character occurs when someone makes a false and harmful statement about you. “Libel” is a defamatory statement made in writing or posted online, while “slander” is spoken defamation. … Those essential components of a defamation claim are fairly straightforward. What I have found is that in lockdown and due to the prevalence of social media harmful and distressing comments are being made about people that cause real harm and distress and damage. For this reason we are specialising in protecting people’s reputations by challenging and seeking the removal of these harmful postings. If you or someone you know has been a victim of this harmful cause of action. Please don’t hesitate to contact the firm without delay.

Here’s to a harmonious and healthy 2021 – 2022.
